About the California Trail at Oakland Zoo
Launched in 2018, the California Trail habitat doubled the size of the Oakland Zoo and introduced eight native species, like mountain lions, bears, condors, and wolves. More than an exhibit, California Trail is an educational journey through the state's natural history, offering visitors a gondola ride, panoramic views, and a deeper understanding of human impact on California's ecosystems.
This puzzle honors the exhibit's mission to inspire conservation through connection and raise awareness of the importance of preserving California's biodiversity.
